Research and development of biomass energy have become a hot topic worldwide, attracting the attentions of governments and scientists from many different countries. In the last few years, China’s government have also been aware of the significance of biomass energy and a series of policies has been adopted.

In 2014, China’s National Development and Reform Commission issued “China’s National Plan on Climate Change (2014-2020)”, stipulating that we need to accelerate the development of clean energy such as solar power, wind energy and biomass energy, and demanding that by 2020, the capacity of biomass generators should reach 30 million kilowatt hour. From this national plan began the golden age of biomass energy in China.

One year later, at a conference on poverty alleviation and development, Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, clearly stated that development of biomass energy and environment-friendly industries were the key to helping poverty-stricken area in the countryside for the rural area contained profuse sources of biomass and it was estimated that biomass industry could help create job opportunities for 80 million rural labor force. It shows that our government has fully grasped the economical and environmental value of biomass energy.

In the beginning of 2016, we welcome an explosion of favorable policies which prophesy a vigorous development of biomass energy in China in the next few years. On March 5th, at the 4th Session of the 12th National People’s Congress, in Li Keqiang, the current Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, pointed out in his work report that we need to increase the proportion of clean energy in the total amount of energy consumption by perfecting policies that favored wind energy, solar power and biomass energy, indicating that our government is stepping up efforts to develop China’s biomass industry. It seems that the development of biomass energy has become an inevitable trend in China.
Under the support of our government, a promising future is waiting for China’s biomass industry. However, presently, there are still tons of problems about China’s biomass energy development. Firstly, our biomass energy technology is straggling behind developed countries for we had a late start. Secondly, our biomass market is still a fledgling and a lot of equipment are still under development. Thirdly, we lack experts and professionals in this field. To solve the problems above, China needs to cooperate and share experience with developed countries with advanced technology.

If you are looking for breach to break into China’s biomass market, I recommend you Asia-Pacific Biomass Energy Technology & Equipment Exhibition. APBE is a platform for more than 200 enterprises home and aboard to showcase their state-of-the-art products and thousands of professionals and experts to share their latest information and knowledge about biomass energy, which assure APBE to stand in the forefront of biomass industry, leading the world to a brighter future.
